I noticed earlier this month my bike (07 600 RR) started idling at 1500RPM and sometimes even up at 2000 RPM (normally runs at about 1200 or 1300). But it would always come back down to 1500RPM at somepoint so i=I never looked to the forums or did anything about it. Then i got my wisdom teeth out and I couldnt wear my helmet so i didnt ride for a little over a week.

Now my bike feels like i am using a valet key or something. Usually I can power wheelie in first and it pulls very hard but now it just cruises and there is a dramatic power loss. I have not done anything to the motorcycle at all besides change the oil about 3000 miles ago.

 

check the air box for a rodent nest, run a fuel cleaner, check the plugs and caps, test the battery, and when at an idle can you smell anything unusual in the exhaust (i.e. fuel, oil, coolant). these are the basic starting points any further involvement will be beyond my realm of thinking
