Hello I am currently ridding a 2008 cbr 600rr with a little over 8000 miles. Currently I am having an issue with my front brake grinding. Recently I just changed my brakes to the setting of 4 on the lever from the 5 it was set too. It does not happen all the time but sometimes I can feel my front brake grinding, it will not make any noise and the bike will not shudder or shake but I can feel the grind through the lever. However I recently but the brake setting back on 5 and have not had any problems.

Does anyone know what may be causing this?

And how much might it cost to fix in certain situations? such as needing new brake pads or discs?

 

take the Calipers off and see what you find could be as simple as a rock or some warn out parts. pads are cheap, rotors... not so much.
