07 CBR start / engine timing issue
I just joined the forum and wanted to say hello to everybody, I hope everything is well. I recently bought a 07 600RR and I am rebuilding it. It has 47 k miles on it. I did the valve adjustments, changed couple of shims, put everything back together, cranked it and it run perfectly and I killed the switch after 10 seconds to put the fairings back on. After I put the fairings on I cranked it again but it won't work. Fuel primes, there is crank, there are 2 puffs of exhaust but won't start. I charged the battery and tried again, it starts but sounds like something is wrong (terrible knocking and sounds like a 2 cylinder engine and dies after 3 seconds). It feels like timing chain is off or a valve is stuck. Here is my question: Why did it run perfectly before installing the fairings and what might have happened in this process? I'm thinking of checking the cam timing but it's a lot of work. Do you have any ideas? Thanks in advance..
I just joined the gathering and needed to express welcome to everyone, I trust everything is well. I as of late purchased a 07 600RR and I'm revamping it. It has 47 k miles on it. I did the valve changes, changed several shims, set up everything back, wrenched it and it run flawlessly and I killed the change following 10 seconds to return the fairings on. After I put the fairings on I wrenched it once more however it won't work. Fuel primes, there is wrench, there are 2 puffs of exhaust however won't begin. I charged the battery and attempted once more, it begins yet seems like something is off-base (horrible thumping and seems like a 2 chamber motor and kicks the bucket following 3 seconds). It seems like timing chain is off or a valve is stuck. Here is my inquiry: For what reason did it run flawlessly prior to introducing the fairings and what could have occurred in this cycle? I'm considering checking the cam timing however it's a great deal of work. Do you have any thoughts? Much obliged ahead of time.
