The gas gauge on my 2006 600rrquit working. When I fill up the tank the gauge reads full but when the tank is empty the gauge reads 1/2 tank. It never goes below 1/2tank. Does anyone know what causes this? How to fix it?

How long have you had the bike and are you the original owner? If you bought the bike brand new, I'd take it to the dealer and ask them if there's anything they can do about it. Thats just my .02. Most of the bike shops I deal with are pretty cool when it comes to "small" (I use this word to define the labor involved not the problem) issues, especially if you bought the bike new from them. If they can't or won't help you out, normally theycan point you in the direction of someone who can.

 

+1 on taking it to the dealer. It should still be under warranty right?

Anyway, my best guess (without knowing how the sending unit works on a '06 600rr) would be that the float is getting stuck inside the tank?

 

That would be my guess as well.
