02 600 F4I sputters and stalls only when warmed up
OK, Just got an 02 CBR 600 F4I for my birthday in nov. My husband got if for me for my birthday from a private sale. Before that it was sitting for a year or two. When I was first taking it out. He thought me "just learning" was flooding the spark plugs. So we changed the sparked plugs this weekend. Right after the change while the bike was "cold" it took off great and ran great (so it wasnt me. lol) . In a few minutes temp went up to about 210, it sputtered and would stall at a stop. I could get it back on and going right away but would have to rev a lot higher to take off. Like I said changed the sprak plugs and that didnt fix it. I do not have a power commander. I am taking it in on thurs. to a dealer, But before I do, any ideas on what it might be?

First is the idle properly adjusted? After its warmed up to about 180-190 it should idle around 1200-1500 RPM.
However, F4i's are notorious for the Fuel Pressure Regulator going bad if the bike is left sitting. Does it smell of gas after getting warmed up also? Anyway I bet this is the problem. Its only about a $60 part, and not hard to replace.Search the forum, there's writeups on it.But a shop will more than likely charge over $200.

THANK YOU, I think you may be right. It has been sitting for a LONG time before I got it. Also just like you said, yes after warmed up it smells of gas. I will get the part this weekend and have my husband change it. Thanks for the advice. Ill let you know if it works
