Default 01 F4i headlights/brights

i have had the front end off my bike a few times for various reasons and the last two times i had it off i noticed my brights didint work. i will flip the brights switch and get nothing. this has been a never ending thing except for once in a great while it will flicker and come on for a bit until i go back to low beam and try to use it again. one time and only once my entire headlight (low and high beam) completely went off on the highway, the low beam flickered itself back right away but it had me concerned. im really thinking it might be the relay on the lights, or maybe i switched the wiring on one or the other light if that would make a difference.i really cant pinpoint it because it does come on once in a while so it has to be getting a connection of some type?

I had a customer come in with a similar problem once and it turned out to be the bulb filament broke but still made contact most of the time. Hit a bump or whatever....nothin. I spent TOO MUCH TIME looking at everything but the bulb. This was a single headlight set-up.... might not apply to you.
The one thing the high and low beam share is the switch....might be a candidate....

The other is the wiring harness. You might just have a bad connection.

+1^^^^. pay close attention to the main harness. Follow the headlight wires back to the harness, there will be a plug right at that point, or just a little further down the main harness. Those connectors can get corroded. Unplug it and put some dielectric grease on the connectors.

Also, remove the bulb connectors and put some there as well.
