01 CBR 600 F4/ crank no start
Just recently purchased the bike, bike ran great for about 900 miles. Went to ride one day, fired up for about 20 sec then died. Since then it will crank strong but no start. I have checked all fuses and relays, batt is fully charged, cam sensor passed ohms test (480), bank angle sensor, kill swith, ignition all good. I HAVE FUEL AND SPARK. Replaced all spark plugs and tested all coils which were good. NO F1 LIGHT present... Would a faulty MAP sensor cause this condition?? I attempted to do a ohms test and the reading is about 1.6. Ive been told i should see atleast 2.2?? does anyone know the spec on the MAP? Also having trouble locating the crank sensor, is it inside the case??

when you say you have fuel, do you mean you fuel present in the combustion chamber such as the injectors are working? or you have fuel in the tank?
If you have spark, the position sensor is probably ok, Are you maybe referring to the pulse generator?. It should be located in the case, but the bike won't have any spark if its bad.
Can you hear the fuel pump prime? It should prime for a second or two as soon as you turn on the key.
If it primes, you may still have a fuel dilevery problem. F4i's are well known for fuel pressure regulators going bad. However, they don't usually just quit, there is usually signs as they begin to fail. But if your under the tank anyway, it wouldn't hurt to pull the vaccum line off and make sure there isn't any gas in the line. If there is gas, the FPR has failed.
The ohms reading you got seems low, but when they go bad, they usually test really low, like .3 ohms or so.

Yes, when i turn the key on i here the fuel pump prime for a few seconds. i pulled the fuel rail with injectors and am getting gas out of injectors... pluggs are soaked with gas. I orderd a fuel psi regulator becasue the bike has almost 30k so figured it wouldnt hurt to replace it anyway... plus like you said, ive heard from allot of people that f4i's are well known for reg issues. But if its not the reg im running out of ideas. supposed to have the part this thursday.... is there anything else you think i should check???
