Default Zumo 550 Mount

Just a couple of pics showing the way I mounted a Zumo 550 GPS on my bike. I used a ram mount that uses the two front tank bolts. Here is a link to the mount...

I got the mount from GPSCity. Also a couple of pics.

Nice. Can you take a sideshot of the mounting? I noticed some of the GPS units are real thick and bulky.

Looks real similar to my F4i mounting position I used the RAM COMP mount and had to drill the holes to almost 5/16" to allow the bolts to go in true. I used Stainless steel allen head bolts, approx. 3/8" longer, to replace the tank bolts. Love the Zumo 550!

That is the same mount I used. I had to enlarge the holes on the RAM mount to nearly 5/16" to allow the bolts to go in straight. I also bought longer bolts, stainles steel. The RAM mount will only add about 3/16" thickness if you don't mind giving up that much thread to hold your tank on the front, you could use your stock bolts, which appears to be the route the OP went.

Whats the cords for? Did you guys hook the power to run off of your bike's battery?

I do, but I believe Techy has his switched through the light harness (just noticed he is on the Zumo forum). I ran a SAE 2 connector lead up from the battery to the steering stem. I transfer the Zumo from bike to bike and have them all that way, wanted an easy way to switch them around. The SAE 2 connector lead is compatible with the Bettery Tenders quick disconnect and I bought a couple of adapters from poweroulet that converts them to cigar lighter style outlets for charging my cell phone, running my air compressor in case of a flat, or something like that. Plus is is real handy for tending to the battery over the winter without removing anything from the bike to do it.

Thats nice. I'm guessing you do not have any problems with the touch screen while using your gloves right?
