Okay. This is my 2nd F4i (#1 an '01 black/silver), and with this F4i (#2 red/black)I've nowhad two dudes (who really seem to know bikes) tell me that my bike is an '02. HOWEVER--- it reads 2001 on my VIN tag. So, WTF?!?! Are these guys both stupid, or do I actually have an 2002? Now, I'm really starting to doubt myself...

 

01 and 02 look identical. Whatever the sticker says on the left frame is what you have.

 

were the fairings changed??? was the frame changed????

 

i dont think they had the red/black in 02

 

They didn't make black/red... just silver/red and yellow/black in 2002.

Whatever the tag says on the left frame is the correct year.

 

according to the sticker my bike was manufactured 11/05 but its an 06' model

 

there was a thread a while ago on this topic. I dont remember the specifics, but I think they make next years model in the fall.

I always go with the sticker on the frame, I have an 01' red/black..have no idea when it was actually made?

It says on the sticker in big lettering the year (2001) and then next to it says "Motorcycle MODEL"

 

And it says in the top right (white) when it was manufactured. ^^ in this case his bike was manufactured in Feb of '01.
