Would a tight chain sound like rattling around 5k RPM?
The reason that I ask is because 1, 2, and 3rd around 5-6k there is a rattling sound. I thought it was maybe just some vibration but after reading these CCT and chain slack posts I am beginning to get concerned. My bike is an '06 with only 6k miles on it.

Bad chains make more of an oscillating sound. If you think it's it though just loosen it way up and check for tight spots. Chances of haveing a chain that bad in 6,000 miles is not good. Adjust to the loose side of right (tight chains eat final drives) and change the cct

I did a whole bunch of reading on the CCT and it def sounds like a can of bb's around that rpm range. I also noticed on ronayers.com that there are four or five variations of the CCT. Guess they have figured out they make a ton of racket. Anyone happen to have the latest generation CCT?
FYI, I measured the chain and it's a little over an inch of slack.

just to make sure we're all on the same page:
this rattling is harmless for the most part, correct? my bike does it a little too... (i think they all do)
