Won't Crank, Blank Red Light On
Got back from college and all I want to do is ride my bike. I went to start it and the battery was dead. I hooked it up to a truck and it charged the battery. The lights turn on and if i remove the clips from the truck battery and touch them, they spark. However, when I try to start my bike, all it does is dim the lights. It won't even begin to crank the least bit.
There is a blank red light that is on on the dash. I don't know what that light means.
Please Help,
Colby

The truck was off, is that ok? I have a voltmeter hooked up on my bike and it has all the green lights lit, and they stay lit as I try to start it, but it doesn't even start to crank. I heard something about a sensor that can have a problem and cause this.
there are many sensors and switches that can cause this. if the battery is good, the next test is to see if the starter is getting signal from the relay and switch. if not, test the kill switch, start switch, and neutral switch.
jumping from a nonrunning car is ok.
the bike is in neutral, right?

Are all the normal lights coming on when you try to start it, if I remember right there is a blank red one, green neutral, and your FI light? Are you trying to start it w/ it the battery hooked up to the truck battery? Check your fuses to make sure you didn't blow any as well.
