Why not to lower you bike...
I lowered it only 1 inch. But do you ever ride on one wheel? Do you lean to the max when you corner? And how much do you weigh? Oh and another thing, when your lowered, it compresses the shock absorber so its a really bumpy ride too.
One reason SOME people who lower a bike never have any problems is because short people who lower a bike for functionality often weigh about 100 lbs. A lot of the problems with lowering a bike come when a full sized rider slams it.
A 5'2 tight bodied chick with a lowered bike is probably riding at the same height I am on a stock bike.
A friend of mine is 5'4 and weighs about 175+, he can't fit on anything and tip toes my F4i but is the same weight as many 6'0 riders.
If you're light you might be alright.

for those of you arguing over weight.. just my opinion,, but someone that weighs 200-300 lbs.. why in the hell would you lower you bike any more than it already squats when you get on it???? not ******* on the heavier riders.. but someone that weighs say 250lbs.. the bike is going to ride about 1-2" lower than say mine with me being 180lbs
