The bikes got 14,000 miles right now. 1,000 of those are mine but I can imagine the pads are probably original. I'll take it apart tomorrow and look at it all. I had the front wheel off about 4 weeks ago when I got a new tire put on and they looked ok then. The calipers looked pretty clean too but it's gonna be a nasty rainy day tomorrow so I wont mind tinkering in the garage. I love how compared to a car all this will take me about an hour tops. If I were to do this to my Mercedes it'd take me 2 hours at least. The joys of motorcycling.

How old you think that stuff is? I'm gonna guess as old as the bike. Flushed both the front and rear. The rear feels much firmer now but the front still felt the same. I readjusted the lever and it's awesome now. Much much better than before. I think it was adjusted all the way down so there wasn't enough lever travel to create hardly any pressure. Now it's nice and firm. Going out right now to test it on the road. Thank you everyone for the replies.

Not meaning to thread jack but whats the easiest way to flush and bleed F4i brakes front and rear? Im sure my pads and fluid are the originals on my 06 and Im getting a little bit of a mushy lever and pedal.

Looks like a horse with a UTI pissed in your master cylinders Funny how the brakes are the most important system on the bike. And also the most neglected one when it comes to maintenance.

I know, especially when it only takes 20 minutes to do all three calipers. Not like flushing the brake system on a car. That fluid actually reminds me of when I had kidney stones 3 years ago. You can imagine the painful memories that brings back.

Well it's good you're all squared away now. And that you didn't go tearing into things for no reason.

Remember the rule of K.I.S.S.
