Who's done a front end swap to inverted forks?
I'm about to go ahead with this, so I'm in the process of sorting parts. Just wondering who's done a front end swap, and what setup they've gone with? I've seen plenty of 954/929 swaps, but not much else. Anyone? Got pics? Any advice or issues you had to deal with? I'd like to stick with Honda, either a 600RR/RC51/1000RR if I can't find a 954 front, but I'm also looking at a new Gixxer 600 and a 636 front end too...and the black anodized setup off the newer R1's looks pretty trick.

929/954 is the easiest way to do it. Just swap the whole front end and it'll mount with no problems. Just remember u need the front wheel, rotor, and spacers off the 929/954. The calipers should be the same on either bikes. Also, u can use the 1000RR forks, but once again u need the 929/954 front end. This is also true for the GSXR forks...The 636 forks will also work, but u have to machine the fork tubes (smaller) in order to fit the lower 929/954 triple good....Keep in mind the f4i has either 46mm or 48mm forks. When changing to 929/954, 1000RR u will then have 50mm diameter forks.....This is the reason the 929/954 front end is needed.....Since the 929/954 is a direct bolt up. If i were u, i'd go that route....=-)

Sorry I don't have anything constructive to add to this, but I'd really like to know what all works. A guy I work with and I were talking about doing something like this last week. I'd really love to have the inverted forks for performance and some gold fork tubes for the looks. Anyways let me know what you figure out.

I am currently swapping my 03 f4i w/ 08 600rr.
The major problems which are easy to over come are the ram air has to have a notch cut out for the lower triple clearance, i can use my wheel with a 08 axle and spacer $50 from honda - u could machine but why - I have to change my stock rotors f4i's - i don't know which ones will fit - need 08 calipers and clip-ons
