Default Heat wrapping headers?

Hey guyswhat do you know about heat rapping headers and exhaust as a performance mod? Myth? I was told that by forcing the heat to stay within the exhaust manifold, headers and mid pipe, gas is burned more effeicently some how making more horsepower?

Default RE: Heat wrapping headers?

from what i have heard and seen it wouldnt even be worth doing on a street bike...you may gain 1-2 horsepower maybe...and a lot of times it will rust out your headers because of the moisture build up from the header wrap...another thing it could damage your headers beyond repair....from what i know about it, it wouldnt be worth your time doing...but lets see what else everyone has to say about it...hope that helps some
