^^^ "Only" 4-6K? I don't think that isso bad...
well when i put my PP's on my bike, it had 9,100 and right NOW my bike has 18,850. im going to easily make it to 19K, but getting new rubbers put on monday (PP's).

thirdgenlxi got either 10k or 11k out of his PP's too. again, not bashing the diablo's...like i said i'd love to try them. but if i have to choose between getting 4k-6k out of my rear tire or getting 10k.....i'll go w/ that.

Don't worry about it. if your getting 10,000 out of powers you more than likly get more out of the diablo's.
It's all style. You give me a grade a road and a new set of pp and I can hit tread wear marks on the rear sides in about 1,000 miles.

Another vote for the Diablos. Put them on about 1k mi ago and love them. I only ride about 3-4k mi per year, so i expect they'll last me about two years. I'm not that hard on tires, but i do like to hit the twisties as much as i can (there's not much in the way of twisties out here in Kansas City...).

jaynd...change your speedo from km to miles and you'll be like the rest of us muhahhhahah

around here and with my experience, guys running diablos vs. pp vs. blah blah blah (all within the same grouping of tires) all get about the same mileage except for metzlers. they stick but they wear faster. not sure if they are better now or not though.

so based on my brain and tire compounds, etc...i'm sure it's not the tire that's giving you the mileage but rather you and thirdgen's riding style. maybe you guys are smooth in turns, all flow and none of this delayed braking, hard in, hard out, hard downshifting things that kill tires fast...and you actually use all of your tire so the mileage is split up between middle tread, side tread, and super side tread...instead of those ***** whose tire looks like fred flintsone's tire...and doesn't need a kickstand.

so...my conclusion...you should get similar mileage out of diablos.

^ thank ya, sir. i wasnt trying to have a battle of the mileage/tires, haha. just was stating what i got out of my tires for thier price.......and since you're the diablo expert, i wanted to hear what price vs. mileage there was.

i like to think i ride the twisties pretty hard in the warmer summer weather. im not hard into the turns, but i do excellerate hard out of the turns.

thanks for you're input. i'll look into Diablos next time.

I recommend the Metz M3 tires. They have more of a rounder profile compared to the PP's, so you don't have that "fall in" feeling when leaning over. The set of M3's on my bikehave around 3,000 miles on them and the rear hasn't squared at all.Half of those 3,000 miles were riding on a highway. They are a great tire, but you really can't go wrong with any of the name brand sport tires, because they are all very similar.
