Default What tire pressures?

Hello, I just recently purchased a set of Michelin Pilot Roads with a max cold psi of 42psi. The handling feels very different from my Supercorsa Pros that I was using. Turn in is a lot faster and twitchy. I used to run 38F/42R on the old setup. What do you guys recommend for this? I mostly do straight line riding with the occassional corner.

Thanks!

I would just stick to the honda specified psi. you're probably feeling such a difference because they are new tires, they are perfectly round right now and will turn in much faster than worn out tires that have formed a flat spot.. same thing happened to me, it felt weird at first but you'll get used to it quick.

Stock tires pressures are just that..Its what they recommend but its not the best for the tires.

Tire pressures will very from tire makers(aka how they handle) and how the suspension on the bike is setup (aka fork springs ,rear spring etc).

On my mine:stock dumlop 207's i ran at the "recommended pressures",handled OK.Lasted 7500 miles
With the correct springs for my wieght and dunlop qualifers i ran them at 36f and 32 rear COLD..Tires lasted 8500 miles(lot of commuting was down to the wear bars).
Current tires are pirelli diablos i run these at 34f and 34r (best pressure for them)..

My sv, i run pilot road 2's ,pressures cold 36f 36r.

Then key is to check your pressures REGULARLY..Not just once a month.I personally check mine twice a week.

Hey White99,

Why does recommended tire pressure suggest higher PSI on the rear than the front? Due to the extra weight over the rear wheel?

If so, why are you running the two same pressures? Just curious.

The Michelin Man (distributor at track) recommended:

Pilot Power Front - Street or Track day tire 36-38 psi
Pilot Power Rear - Street or Track day tire 35-37 psi
Pilot Power 2CT Front - Street or track day tire Du.al Compound 32-34 psi
Pilot Power 2CT Rear - Street or track day tire Du.al Compound 32-34 psi
Power race Front (PR1, PR2, PR C) 31 psi
Power race Rear (PR3, PR4, PR5) 22 psi

FREDDIE SPENCER's RACE SCHOOL Recommends (Pilot Powers):
85 degrees or less35 Front and 35 rear,
over 85 degrees36 or 37 front and 36 rear.

I've been running the 36/36 lately (kinda hot down here)

YMMV
