my 03 manual says unleaded gasoline octane 86 or higher
i run premium 91 or 93

 

LoL! Nice try. I use 87 and there is no point in using any higher unless you have a power commander.

 

Uhm...I have a Power Commander and I am absolutely not using the highest octane avail. I use mid-grade 89. Who or where does it say I should be using high octane with my PC III USB???

I have put 93 for the past month since I've had my bike. Decided to try 87 today and it runs just fine. I also have a PCIII with a generic map on it for now.

 

you can run whatever you want in it, same with oil(mineral vs synthetic)
it was made for 87 so it will run different with 93. unless you get crap 87 it will run the best on 87. mine does.....i dnot know where its written that 93 is "better" than 87 its just for different applications.

 

my manual says to rum 89 or higher but i always put in 93, i guess better safe than sorry.
