Default What is a good paint job going to cost me?

After rebuilding the bike, there are some bad scratches and different colored parts and all that. I would like to get it painted like a shadow grey from a pro.

How much does it usually run to get a good professional paint job?

^That's cheap. Depends on how much of the prep work you do. Personally I'd just shop around for aftermarket fairings, that way, you'll have two sets.

If you are planning to paint a set. you can always find random fairing pieces(different colors and such) to piece together a set and then paint over that and then you doint have to wrry about aftermarket fit or oem expense.

if you do all the body filling, sanding, and priming you may be able to get by under 1000 otd.

who are you people going to too get your **** painted!? unless your doing some custom **** it should not go over $1000. my shop on average charges $200 to spray a new hood or bumper cover and fairings are no biggger then 2 hoods so thats why i say $1000 on the high side give or take $60 for color and then how ever much for laber if the parts are new or reworking them.

Im new on this form, but on a similal forum for Jet Skis Im pretty well known for my painting skills. I own a small business and my specialty is custom painting as well as performance work and basic repair.

Paint work is rarely a simple scuff and squirt. I get customers all the time telling me all they want me to do is spray the paint on. They will do all the prep work and have the parts completely ready. I hate this! Paint work starts with any body repairs and goes all the way to the final buffing. Any materials used have to be compatable and if they are not you get to do the work twice.

For a fairly basic paint job on a stand up jet ski (completely stripped bare hull with no body repair) my price starts at $700.00. This price can include a couple colors and simple graphics.

I have to say, you get what you pay for. I have guys telling me all the time that my price is too high, then they go bargain shopping and get the job done for half of my price. A few weeks later they all seem to come talk to me about how bad the work is from the other guy.

In my oppinion a $1000.00 paint job for a bike is a little on the high end if you are looking for a single color, but should get you some really nice work, just dont expect a full custom covered with artwork and airbrushing for that price.

I was quoted 350 as a start price for a single color job if I brought the decals in.
