Jared, are you doing the tranny yourself?

Yup doing it all myself! Don't really have a choice since I'm broke right now [&:] But I'd rather do it myself anyways... waaaay cheaper AND I learn alot in the process! Plus I don't trust other people working on my stuff

Good luck Jared! Yeah that sucks really bad, but all things considered, I'm suprised everything has lasted as long as it has. Think we should all take bets on when the engine blows. I'm guessing 412,353 Miles. lol

just watch out for drivers around bluefox's neighborhood!

i would suggest just rebuilding a lot of the engine while you have it apart. i have rebuilt a YZF600R engine and it wasnt that hard, and i know that you are very mechanically inclined so it shouldnt be a problem for you. $200 isnt too much to drop for a new transmission, your other gears are probably getting pretty close to the same condition...
Nah I'm not gonna mess with the motor.... there's nothing wrong with it and it still runs 110% perfect... nice and smooth and quiet, uses no oil, and clean as a whistle inside... runs like brand new! I'll just leave that alone for now. I want to see how far it'll go anyways before it actually needs a rebuild

Let us know how it turns out..But like some other suggested ,id contact honda and see if they "might" help you out..You know "goodwill"..Like we do in the dealerships..You never know..

Off topic-toyota goodwilled a motor in my 99 corolla,141k cost me 184$ for a new longblock and all the extra parts..I just had to do the labor for free(helps when you work for them, plus you never know till you ask)..

True true... might be worth a shot! Though it would be alot easier if I had a dealership I usually went to for service or whatnot, but I've never taken it to anybody for anything. I dunno we'll see....

What we've done a few times at my dealership.... people will have something wrong with their car, then they'll start looking at new cars. Once they haggle down to the price they want on a new car, they'll add in "well now I've got my old car that needs such and such fixed.... fix my old car and we have a deal". Usually they'll do it to, so they get their old car fixed for free, and a new car too. Of course that only works if you actually 'need' a new car and were planning on buying one anyways, lol.

But I have been wanting an RC-51 for some time now....hmmmm I wonder... [8D]

Hell just contact honda direct..Im sure there is a 1 800 number or email addy out there..

Im scared of something like that happening to mine,so i got the 5 year plan warrenty plan(430.00 so it was a no brainer because anything can happen),esp since i ride mine almost as much as you ride yours..
