Anyone have a link to where I can purchase either the OEM CCT or the APE CCT? Is there a difference between the CCT and the CCTL? Which is the part I need to replace to get rid of that pesky sound?

Thanks guys.

I'm just gonna go ahead and purchase the APE tensioner and gasket from their website...Model # HT900...it's about 50 bucks. This seems to be the one that everyone uses.

Just some food for thought, and I don't mean this to come across rude. But if you are going to pay a local mechanic to do this for you, be it you don't have the time or mechanical skill to do it yourself, I would go with a stock CCTL. Reason being the manual tensioner will eventually require adjustment and might end up costing you more money to have someone do it for you. If you replace it with a stock style CCTL you won't need to bring it to someone for adjustment.

I did mine with a stock style about a year ago and got it from cheapcycleparts.com payed about the same $50 shipped and did the work myself. It's pretty straight forward and took a few hours while I was drinking beers.

I was doing some more homework on the "CCT" and the "CCTL"....and just to be sure IT IS THE CCTL I need and not the CCT right? (14520-MBW-J24 - LIFTER, TENSIONER - Honda OEM Parts - Cheap Cycle Parts)...

Zimd, not rude at all...I am going to do stock now. I didn't know that the APE's would require tinkering, and I am not that mechanically inclined as of yet...eventually! but not yet lol. I would prefer to go with the stock and not worry about and adjusting.

Thanks.

That's the right part. You might also want to pick up the gasket that goes with it. Part number 14523-MAL-A01

Here's a good reference for info on the CCTL https://cbrforum.com/forum/f4i-main-...-thread-78155/
