Sliders are designed to grind away or bend or break off in an impact. They're meant to take the initial blow to save your frame and motor. Less damage to the fairings is just a nice perk, not their original function.

 

Ditto on the woodcraft. They are designed to be easier to remove the puck if you go down. Also, theyre not hollow so there is much more surface and meat to slide on. I'm not sure about the vortex, but pucks are replaceable. Also solid vs hollow for appearance's sake. Either way both are better than nothing. I feel the woodcrafts are a smarter design, which is why i chose them.
