Default Update from my fall, with new pics

Hello all,

So, after my fall a month ago, I am almost ready to put the bike back together.

Here are some details; after looking really closely at the damage, I ended up needed a new mirror, bar ends, front bracket, shift levers, stator cover and seal, left handle bar bracket, two decals and a job on the plastics.

All in all, it cost me about 900.00, but I'm about to add to the cost because I found out something new. I went to take my bike out of the garage to reassemble everything and it appears that I am leaking oil from my left fork. I don't know if this is the result of my fall or from before the fall, but it needs to be fixed. I found this how to:

https://cbrforum.com/forum/how-mechanical-40/how-rebuild-your-forks-f4-f4i-41756/

I was wondering if this is really as easy as it looks? and if it is just the seal?

Also, does anyone know how to put on decals? because I don't know how to, and I don't want to mess them up.

Here are some pics:

The guy I took the plastics to charged me $450.00 to do everything. All I have to say is he did an excellent job in my opinion.

I'll update my pictures of the stator cover when I am done, and I'll make a new post about my fork seals because I also have more pictures and didn't want to make this a really long post.

Can anyone give me some directions about putting the decals back on?

Thanks.

450 was a grip but that fairing looks brand new, job well done. id prolly just take the bike to one of thoise signs/ sticker shops they have everywhere and have them put it on. then you can make sure it even with no wrinkles n stuff. thats what imma do when i decide what decals imma go with

Wow those fairings look AMAZING. I love it when I see cars or bikes with a shiny glossy jet black finish that seconds as a black mirror haha

That's not a bad amount given the kind of work that goes into repairing plastics, plus the paint. Looks great!

decals are easy enough, just make sure you clean the area where you plan to put the decal with windex or any cleaner. Make sure it isn't a cleaner/wax because the decal wont bond to the plastic. get some masking tape to mark off where you want them so its even for both sides. Use a credit card to smooth out the bubbles and wrinkles. the more time you take to do it the better it will look. If i were you id put the decals on and have a painter spray some clear coat on them so they dont chip or scratch.

Thanks for the info and responses.

Here are some more before/after pics. These were really just my wanting to do because I was doing everything else after the fall.

Brake and clutch pedals, turn signals and I added a carbon fiber license plate holder. I also added carbon fiber bar ends to replace my original ones and carbon fiber mirrors to replace my OEM because I damaged the left. It was cheaper to get the set rather than one black aftermarket. I post pics of those when I put everything else back together after I figure out about my forks and my rim. It looks like my front rim is bent more that I originally thought and it may have to be replaced or sent somewhere to get fixed.

damn!! great job! love the way the farings came out? i remeber when you fell and i thought you wouldn't be able to save some of those farings...$450 i don't is to bad because theirs alot of work that goes into fixing plastics with that much damage, plus you got a bitchin paint job with it...props on all the work you did on replacing your parts...you save a bunddle when you do everything you self...

hey you know what my left fork starting leaking at the seal also this weekend also..let me know if that something you can due or if it's a shop only re-pair and how much it cost you?

Looks great! $450 is a reasonable price for repairing those fairings and they came out great to boot.
