Default Trip meter reset

My battery was really weak that it couldn't crank the second time when it fail to start on the first crank. I pushed the bike and used teh start button at the same time to start the bike. On the same afternoon, I removed the battery to charge it. Everything else was fine after that.

2 days later I went to the gas station to fill up the tank, but to my surprise I could not reset the trip meter which is showing <100 at that point with the button. Can it be that my button is damaged? I just find it too coincidental.

can someone share some experience?

Weak battery + failed attempt to start = Reset Trip Meters.

Frustrating for me - I was trying to keep good track of mileage/tanks initially using the trip, and when I installed my new taillight, I ran the batt low. - Hit start - didn't start - jumped it (OK charged it with a nice 2A charger) and started right up - pulled outside and noticed Trip went to 0. - I estimated the mileage based on purchase mileage and the trips so far logged...

Your saying that holding the button does not reset trip odometer correct? If so I haven't run across that and my battery has died a couple times with no problem with using that button afterward.

My battery died and for 2 months id have to run start it everytime with the trip and time resetting and no problem. You might have a bad cluster, take it to a honda repair center and see if they can trace the problem.

Default Trip meter wont reset

Hi all i have a cbr 929 2000 model i have owned for around 4years now great bike. Just recently the trip meter fails to reset, ive seen other members have had the same issue. I was wondering how to fix this problem, do i need to get the unit looked at by an auto elect? I disconected the battery hoping it would reset. But that didnt really help? Is there any answers to this problem?
