At 195lbs nakie you'll need the entire suspension at max. The front is sprung for a 120lbs rider and the rear for a 170lbs rider. Once you get moving you'll wanna upgrade that front end ASAP.

How are the springs so deficient when the max weight for rider and load is 386lbs? Help me understand this

They reckon the CBR is sprung for like a 60-70kg rider (think Japanese featherweight rider), that’s not to say though the bike can’t handle the weight you’ve mentioned; but handling weight and being sprung so the spring is in its optimum operating range are two very different things.

Spend some time playing with sag, you’ll find it out. The standard spring for me on a 2002 bike needed to be one click off max preload to be at the correct sag....this is bad.

No idea. But go to a website like race tech. Look into replacement springs. They have a calculator factoring bike weight, rider weight, riding style etc. My 175lbs on a F4i needs .92kg springs. Stock is .68kg springs, not even close. Weirdly enough the rear shock spring is exactly what I needed so no replacement required.

Max load is not the same as optimal load. The springs will hold that amount of weight but not necessarily perform well. For instance, I can jog with 50 lbs on my back but not nearly as easily as I can with only 25. One of the first changes I made to the bike was to install stiffer front springs and it made the bike feel much more responsive and less "squishy"...
