tires question
ok i have been all the way to the edge of my tire on the right and within less than a millimeter of the edge on the left, yet i have never had a peg drag, is that strange, or is it something to do with my tire, which is a bridgestone battalax by the way.
actually i usually hang all the way off, but all that means is that the big doesnt have to lean as much, meanign its not gonna go as far down. sometimes i find myself leaned over to far and going to the way inside of the turn. its a mood point now because im about to get into stunting i think
It usually has to do with tires. Rounder profile tires will let you get further out on the edge with less lean. Triangular profiles will give you more lean before you bottom out.
It also has to do with rider weight and suspension.
Even if I am hanging off with a knee on the ground, when I get the edge of the Pilot Powers I am grinding pegs.

just to point something out...most of the time when you feel like you're hanging off like a monkey...it isn't so...if you get some vids or pix, you'll see that it just feels like it, and you're just hanging off like you have glue on your **** still!
the more you move off the bike the less lean angle you need for any given corner. you either weigh 105 or your suspension is set to full stiff with maximum preload or you have rearsets. i weigh 190 and my feelers touch down pretty easily. thats on 208's
Okay, I'm 6' and a complete fat ***. There is no way the stock suspension can be properly set up for someone of my...... girth. I ride on Power Sports, and have no chicken strips on either edge. That being said, I haven't touched a peg, or peg feeler for that matter during a ride. So, it can be done.
