Tires. Neutral vs Extra Handling

Tires. Neutral vs Extra Handling
Ok some of you guys have made remarks that some ofprefer tires that are more neutral in handling. Some of you guys like tires that make it easier to turn & lean into curves example 2ct's.
I have only rode 1 set of tires so far, M-1's Sportec's. I am researching tires gettin ready to buy for next riding season.
My question is why do some of you like a neutral tire? Examples would be because? Wouldnt everyone want a tire that makes it easier to turn sharper or extra performance?? What are the Pro's and Con's of both neutral vs extra handling tires?

the taller profile tires would allow for more lean. necessary when you're ballz out racing at the track, otherwise don't really matter other than the ease of turn in.
i just like it neutral...lean and countersteer to get it where i need it to go, etc. rather than having the bike fall in on its own. i didn't turn any slower than another bike, just took my own will to do so rather than mostly the bike's doing.
i say instead of asking, try it. if you road the M1s and like how they felt then you'll like PP...if you think they were unstable during the turn in and in the turns, then try pirellis or bridgestones.

Im a bit confused by what you mean. Are you comparing tire sizes or the type of rubber they are made out of? A 180/55/17 2CT will steer the same as a pilot sport, but because of the rubber compound will grip the road much better and allow more of a lean angle before losing traction. If your talking tire sizes leave it stock.

Dude, everyone is going to have a different opinion about the tires they like because people's riding styles are different. You already seem to know about how the geometry of a tire changes the way it rides, so using that information, find a set of tires that you think suits YOUR riding style the best. This question gets beaten to death and is never answered. So just try it yourself. If you don't like the tires, sell them and get something else.

It's like the OP's suspension question, there is no right or wrong setting or tire, just whatever you like. By trying all the different tires out there you will figure out what works best and then you research what goes into each tire and then you can find out why you like one compared to another.

The PP's (non- 2CT)were good to me when I 1st got them. Helped me work on throttle control a lot. I've put a hella lotta miles on em and they are no where near the wear bars. About 32/36 street and 31/30 trackdays. I have 3 trackdays on my set and will probably last through this season (fingers X'd).
