you know...even if you bought a 'new' set of 208s on clearance or OTS, you gotta check the born on date...like beer, tires go bad when they just sit there!!!!!!!!
as for 208s warming up on the street...they do, but also depends on the weather...in my younger days in 40 degree weather, they didn't do so hot...and would break loose ever so often...i assumed they lost too much heat to the cold asphalt.

I probably should have added that alot depends on weather,road conditions, tire condition, throttle application, etc.
I am running the 208 zrs but they seem to take along time to get any heat in them, or at least FEEL confident inspiring in the front.
I have had instances where I did push the front and slide the backgoing at slow speed, dry pavement where i had already been riding for 10 minutes on pretty much straight roads.
Just thought I would add that in there.......
