Default THAT time of year :(

Yep damn temps are getting cold up here in Canada[:@] Going to get in as much ridn as possible. For those who store there bikes, any tips/concerns? I bought my F4i last December, and just did the usual :
in no particular order.

Clean entire bike
Change oil/filter
Remove fairings
Spray WD-40 on metal areas, to protect from moisture etc
Check air press
Check coolant
Fill gas tank, add fuel stabalizer as required
Check adj and clean chain
Remove Battery
Put on stands/cover her up

Both last year and this, it will be in garage (not heated)

Or you could be hardcore like me and ride during the winter. Snow bah who cares, it makes you a better rider. =)

This is the first year im going to put mine up for winter, my other one I rode all year round, but I don't feel like putting up with the cold. I have a little barn to put my bike in and i have a cover and a stand. Is removing the fairings a nessary thing to do? I thought you would want to have the least amount of gas in your tank for the winter.

Stabilize a full tank of gas, and take the battery out and your bike will survive the subzero temps just fine.I've done that since I got my first bike 9 yrs ago and they all started right away in the spring.

nope, fill tank up and add fuel stab, keeps moisture out/rusting etc.
Re oil the manual states if your storing for more than 4 months to change oil twice? not sure about that? also suggests removing spark plugs and adding a tsp of oil?

Mine is stowed away too, but mainly because I don't want to ride it much more after my week long trip in september since I roasted the back tire off, the CTT needs an adjustment, and an oil change. But since i'm going to have a bunch of engine mods done this winter it can sit there till I get all my parts in order.

Do most change oil before storing, or in the spring before riding??
