Time for a new chain, can i skip the sprockets?

I've got regina 520 chain + vertex sprockets for about 220. Happy with it

I wanted to get Regina, but heard the master links required a specialized tool since the pins don't have dimples in the end

I changed my chain to a DID and got new Vortex sprockets. I recommend changing them out together as a set, but I guess it's ok to not do that. I would spend the extra money to buy a new set though. Look around online, buddy. You can get some pretty good prices. Try ebay and craigslist.

Sprockets are very cheap compared to the price of the chain, it would be silly not to get new ones at the same time. Also, if you have stock gears, go down a tooth in front and up 2 in the rear, so you can tryout the new gearing and swap back to stock whenever you feel like and keep the same chain
