RE: Tie Downs??
When i got my old bike it had a broken right side upper fairing, due to the previous owner strapping it down wrong. I bought a thing at my local bike shop called a Canyon Dancer to stap the front down. It works well for securing the front without worrying about the straps hitting the fairings. Here's the link. I'm sure you can google and find similar things, but it works great at strapping the front down. Then i just throw some straps around the rear tire or pegs and you are good to go.

RE: Tie Downs??
i use a canyon dancer and a good wheel chock. I would never transport one of my bikes without both of those. After that I use 2 ratchet type straps that make a loop, one for each side. I loop it around the rear wheel and to the side of the trailer (that probably didn't make sense but basically each of them is pulling on the rear wheel towards each side of the trailer making sure the rear doesn't slide around). I'll post pics later tonight, I've never had a bike move a single inch while transporting and since I do a lot of trackdays these bikes spend a lot of time being pulled in a trailer. I wouldn't attach anything directly to the forks, you really don't want a fork or the tripple to get tweeked, that stuff costs big $

RE: Tie Downs??
I have never tie down mine in a trailer but have in the back of my truck, which if I had a trailer I would tie down the same just feel better being in the bed of my truck vs a trailer that could bounce around depending on the trailer. I use 4 rachet style binders that have hooks on them for the front I loop the strap thru the hook and put one on each handle bar grip, then I place one on each of the passangers foot peg. Bike never moved 1st time I did it and I drove 300 miles with it back there. with no problems. If I had to do a long trip like that again I would get that fancy strap gadget for the handle bars. whatever you do keep an Eye on it and double check it when you stop. I have seen some bikes that either the guy didnt know or didnt care but were laying on there side as they were going down the road.

RE: Tie Downs??
Definantly use the Canyone Dancers.........They are great. I dont recommend "ratchet" style straps myself though. I think it is wayyy too easy to over compress the forks with those things. On the rear they are fine, I just dont use them for the front as I hate changing fork seals. Just my .02 on straps.
