Default Tach Problem

I have a 2002 CBR F4I. This is the problem. My tach will light up, do its initial start up (zero to red line to zero) but when the bike is cranked it won't get a RPM reading nor will it get a temp reading which is on the same instrument gauge. I'm stuck. Not very familiar with this problem but I learn quick. Any ideas what the problem is. I don't think its coincidence that both sensors went out at the same time but you never know. What is the source of both readings and most of all, what do you think the problem is? Thanks big time for your help.

Here's the Service Manual and the Owner's manual. Check sections 19-13 & 19-14 in the service manual.

First I would check where the cluster plugs into the sub harness and check for a loose connection. If that doesn't do the trick I would say buy a new cluster but go through Ebay, You should be able to find one for about $200 instead of the $450 the stealership wants.

Also if you looking for a new cluster after testing all the wires and everything i would check stunt forums.. A lot of guys have them for cheap.
