Default Subframe interchangeability...

Yes, I have searched before asking this. Many, many times.

That being said, I still can't find a straight answer. I've got an '02 that I'm turning into a streetfighter/stunter setup, as the other bike is too nice to thrash over the winter. The F4i I've picked up needs a tail...as of right now, its just a trellis frame, no plastics, no seat. I'm looking to find out if the 600RR subframe will mount up with minimal fab work; is it relatively straightforward? I was looking at the bolt positions and can't tell if it'll work. I've seen lots of 600RR tail conversions here, but most seem to be just the tail plastics, and the ones with modified subframes offer little explanation as to how it was done.

If this doesn't work, I understand that the F4/F4i's all have interchangeable subframes; worst case scenario, I'll bastardize it and throw an R6 tail on it, or just bob the tail flush with the seat.

no is the simply answer. The 600RR sub is cast alum, as the F4i is alum tubing. Mounting points n angles are way diff too. It can be doen n has I do believe. But I think they ones thaty have done it moded a F4i sub to fit.

I have a 600RR tail n seat fairings n a F4 sub if your looking for parts to bastarize lol

Awesome, thanks for the heads up. Yeah, maybe I'll just look for some more F4 frames to mess around with...god bless the Dremel!
