Default Strange part found under bike.

Hello everyone!
Newcomer here and also relative new when it comes to motorcycle in general and the CBR600f4i in particular.
So, the story is I've recently replaced the front stock turn signals with a pair of aftermarket flush mount turn signals for my bike, and a relay switch to keep the new signals from flashing too fast. Everything worked the way I wanted. Then, the next day, I found the above piece of plastic lying underneath my bike.

According to the diagram, the piece is called "pipe cp" and it's supposed to be a component for the headlight. Still, there is no clear indication of where this "pipe cp" actually goes on the headlight.
I would appreciate any help you can provide regarding this particular issue.

Welcome to the forum bngo6.
Well I have to say you have me stumped on that one, I recently did the same on mine and did not notice that piece.
I am sure one of the other will have better luck and or have their headlight assembly disconnected so can provide assistance.

It does not matter in this case, but it might in the future as there are some differences in the bikes between Europe and the US, the picture that you have shown is for a European bike (certainly UK) not a US one as it shows the 'running light' No. 3 on the diagramme which the US bikes do not have as their indicators are set up as running lights and are wired permanently on.

Not sure where you are from, but it is worth noting.

Please take a moment and pop over to the new member area to introduce yourself to the forum.
Where are you from, how long have you been on two wheels, what bikes do you have etc.
We also love pictures.

Cheers
Al

I recently had mine apart and do not remember seeing that but I knew what it was for as soon as I saw your pic.

If it is for your bike it should be very obvious where it will mount, there will be a hole that goes into the light. These are usually to help condensation evpaoration from inside the light fxture. Somewhere near the center/bottom.

Thank you guys for the tips.
@Scott91370 I can kinda guess where the thing is supposed to go, even though the diagram is for another version of the bike, as @Al1040 have pointed out.
What would be the best way to locate the hole? Do I have to remove the dashboard in order to see/reach it?

Hello.
I was able to put the thing back on, thanks to this image which I found on ebay, from one of the vendors. I didn't have to remove any major parts to be able to put the pipe cp back on.
Thanks again for all the tips.

@macman756 Sorry but I just grabbed the image from that particular post on eBay and then forgot about it. As a result, I no longer have the link to it nor am I sure that the post even exists anymore.

There is this one, minus the bulbs and relays but quite pricey.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294367736...temCondition=4
or go pattern part and build up from there?
