The F4i was tested in 2001 - the first column in the document states when the test was done. And I agree, it depends on skill most of all. But your average rider does not possess that skill, nor will they obtain it after a handful of times at the strip. So they'll probably need those types of mods to achieve a time along those lines. That or a LOT of track time (and replacement clutches).

Also, take a look at other 600cc times:
09 600RR: 10.89 @ 125.53
05 ZX-6R: 10.78 @ 127.12
01 GSX-R: 10.60 @ 128.29
05 Daytona 650: 10.75 @ 125.93

You can't go by that article. There's just not enough information. IE, temperature, humidity, etc. at the time of the tests. Even if the dyno numbers are accurate, there's no way the 6 whp that the 01 F4i has over the 06 will cause the 01 be 7 tenths of a second quicker. I was also looking at one of the other bikes on there, and that bike accelerated to 102 mph, 2 tenths of a second quicker than it got to 100 mph. Makes sense. lol

My first and only 1/4 mile track visit i ran a best time of 11.2 at 118mph.
After more practice i could probably tweak that time slightly faster. But i havent been back since...i only got 4 runs in that night.

After 120 mph (this particular track) requires full leathers. At the time I only had a leather jacket and jeans (with kneeguards)

fun side fact:
i also had two plugs in my rear tire at the time. hence the knee guards lol!
