Check to see if your speed sensor came unplugged. It's a three-wire connector right above the transmission, just below/next to the coolant overflow container.

i have intermittent speedo issues. check the speedo sensor connection like aken said, otherwise you might need to replace it (the sensor). my connection is all good...my sensor is probably bad. i have been riding with speedo issues for 2 months and never had a problem.

My speedo works intermittently and my Fi light comes on if I hit the gas too hard past 50 mph or so. The FI light only started coming on after the speedo stopped working so they musst be connected. How much does the speed sensor cost? For those of you who have already replaced theirs.

Thanks in Advance,

Dave

Speed sensor is a pretty common issue on the F4i's. I had to replace mine too, as well as several buddies with F4i's as well, plus a number of people here on the forum.

99% it's a speed sensor. And they're FUN to replace too!! LOL

Thanks, that gives me peace of mind, I was already thinking that I have problems with my Fuel injectors. But I'll get the speed sensor replaced as soon as I get some money.

Don't GET it replaced. Replace it yourself. If you get it replaced, take some KY warming lube with ya.
