I recently bought a 2001 CBR F4i. I did some work on it (painted) and then had it safetied. I took it out for a ride yesterday and the speedometer wasn't working. It used to work when I first got it. I thought at first, being a newbie, maybe I didn't hook something back up right when I put it back together but the display works. Any ideas what might have caused this and what I need to do to fix it?

I was told that it sounds like the speedo pickup sensor isnt pluged in but I have no idea where or what they are talking about

use the search button, alot of posts about this topic. mine isn't working either. i just ordered a speed sensor from the dealer. $75. the speed sensor is mounted on top of the crank case in front of your rear shock. has green, black and pink wires. very hard to get to. hope this helps
