Default Speedo Shorting out

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I recently picked up an 2002 F4i. I changed the front turn signals to the flush mounts and when I put the front back onI found that my speedo and tach were shorting out and blowing fuses. I realize this is likely a bad ground but I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or had any further insight. Thanks

I had problem on another bike and one of the connectors had just come loose in the assembly. I would go over it all.

I'm dealing with a blowing fuse. Same bike, 3rd season. Had aftermarket front lights already on it.
A10A fuse blew acouple rides ago, then another last week. This overload?knocks out the instrument/light panel except the stay on all time clock.
The bikes rideable except if your alone you have guess your speedand this takes away from enjoying the ride eh.

After 2 fuses I'd love to get a tip on a chronic easy fix problem.In the meantime I'll start chaseing this bad connection.

BTW - Everhad a bad stretch of luck during rideing season, (northern latitudes). I'm also having to replace a half used rear battlax as well.

BBTW - Any tips on findinggood deals on rims. I read a tip where a guy does this so he's back on the road quickly and getting theflatfixed in the pit per se.

Thankfor any help;
Steve

Had this exact problem last week. Everything was fine... stopped for gas... started up left the station and no speedo, tach, rear running light. Kept blowing one of the 10A fuses. It was the wiring running to the license plate light. The clip that holds the wiring in place had rotated up and pinched the wire. Saw that this happened to someone else on the board. Check it out. Haven't had a problem since. Good luck.
