Spark plug options?
Does anyone know if there is a alternative spark plug to use for a 02 f4I. The honda dealer is recommending the ngk iridium plugs, which is fine, I just can't see paying out $15 a plug. Has anyone used another plug other than the iridiums? If so, was there any difference? Help save me some $$$$$. Thanks!
You should be able to get the same plugs from an auto parts store (or order them if they don't have them in stock) for less than half the dealership's price. I paid $18 a plug last time because I needed them right away and I'm never doing it again.

there ya go buddy. I paid 15/piece for the cr9ehix plug at my dealer. I couldn't wait for shipping.
Advance auto carries NGK plugs for 11/piece. Not a bad deal. Check them out.

I have a problem with my bike and No. 1 cyl burns oil so the plug fouls from time to time. those iridiums are too damn pricey to replace all the time so I use standard plugs by ngk and they work fine for me. I am not telling anyone what to do but this is what "I" do. I use ngk cr9e for 3 and the one that burns oil I go a step "hotter" by using cr8e. Yes the lower the number the hotter the plug. I am not so cheap as to use the wrong plug just because it is "cheaper" but when I was trouble shooting the bike I went through a l;ot of plugs. I tried these standard plugs and they work. No difference that I can tell from installing new irridiums... I have been running them for at least a thousand miles now and no problems. The main reason for irridium as a factory choice is that the smaller electrode produces a more intense spark so to speak. They both will work and I'm not saying which is better. hope this helps
