Default Something is wrong with my F4i and its driving me INSANE.

Bike => 2004 CBR600 F4i

Ok so about a month ago I got a flat rear tire. The next day I bought a new tire and replaced the old one. On the SAME day I hit a bad patch of ice and went down with my bike. It was about as mild as spills get, my bike barely had a scratch and all I came out with was a bruised knee.

The problem is, ever since the tire-change/spill, my bike has been acting weird and I can't figure out what it is! It feels sort of wobly at times, more so on turns and at lower speeds (and when stopping). The best way to describe it is; is that it feels like I have a flat front tire. But I checked the pressures and everything looks ok.

I took it to a guy that mainly works with Honda bikes, he spun the wheels and readjusted the handle bars, but the problem has stayed, if not getting worse. I feel like maybe it's just in my head...

I want my bike to coast smoothly again, but I can't afford to keep taking it to get it checked, any ideas??

Thanks,
Matt

Hmmmm.. maybe steering head bearing/triple tree area might be tweaked.
Does it happen everytime you make a turn (left or right?) or just some of the time?

Check out the front tire and see if it has any cupping/scalloping. If so, try lowering your tire presure and see if that doesn't relieve it.

I feel like its more often when I turn left (which is the side my bike landed on when I layed it down) but I'm not that certain. I'll check it out next time I'm out.

I'll also check my tire and lower the pressure a bit, about how low should I go? Its at about 36psi right now.

Yeah, 36 psi. is max. 30 psi. is what's in mine and I think some guys run lower.

36 is what is recommended, lower pressure let the tire distort more and cupping happens. Great for track riding though.

Find someone else who has a F4i and let them ride it. Don't tell them what exactly you feel, just tell them the bike feels like something is off.

How old was your original tire? A used tire and a brand new tire will feel very different.

Honestly it sounds more in your head. But you never know.

I would also check the rear wheel alignment, maybe wasn't adjusted correctly.

+1 and it might just be your head, just need to get used to the new tire and if you have diffrent brand tires that would also cause bad handling ..
