I honestly don't know. For now I do better when she isn't moving around trying to adjust her seating position after sliding a little. Fingers are crossed this helps solve that!

Thanks to both you and JeffJones for the compliments though, I will definitley update if it works as good as it looks
You're totally right, I just wanted to introduce the theory of grippy vs. non grippy seats. I don't think a pillion rider has much business moving about on the back of a moving motorcycle. Again, good job! Looks totally professional. If it does stretch or rip I guess it's just an opportunity to figure something else out.

I used to ride with a girlfriend on the back of my Ducati and Harley, she couldn't keep her head from knocking in to mine, very annoying hearing and feeling the helmets clack together every few seconds. I don't imagine that's as much of a problem with the F4i as the seat angle is steeper.

Default First test run results... GREAT!

So we went out for our first ride last night with the modified rear seat, and I have to say... the results were awesome! For both of us.

For me, there was not one time where she slid into me, even a little, and our helmets never touched once....

For her, I can tell you that so far, that was the most relaxed ride for her. she was able to comfortably hold onto me without feeling like she had to "HOLD ON" which allowed her to sit up a bit more and enjoy the sights, which is what she should be doing back there. (on a side note, we had our signals for me to let her know when she should hold on tighter )

I will say it wasn't a crazy long ride, we were out for about an hour, but the material held up perfectly. It doesn't even look like it budged, and definitley no tears or anything (so far...)

So all in all, I would say that we're really happy with the results.

For anyone looking into this, I'd say that even though this stuff also looks like the non-skid mat you put under a rug, I think it is a little different. We have some of the rug stuff too at home, and it's much "lighter" and does feel like it would tear. I would suggest the more durable tool box liner material.

Learn something new every day. More than one way to skin a cat.. or keep from skinning one. Nifty, let us know how it rides and if it lasts etc.. At least the stock seat wasn't destroyed in the process.

Wow, that really does look awesome. I was just about to put some hockey grip tape on mine, but this solution looks wayy better. Can't wait to try it!

Well... As with anything like this I post, if I can help even one person, I count it as a success! Let me know if you end up trying it Pacos!

Hey Sparkman! That's actually kinda cool... My girlfriend said she could see that being alot more comfortable for her to hold on... We'll definitely look into these, thanks!
