Sliders - a technical question

RE: Sliders - a technical question
the sliders will go in the side that they fit into. the little nub fits inside the engine mount. its kind of fool proof cause if you put the frame slider in the wrong side it wont fit right. i did that when i was putting mine on. as for the screw, if it sticks out too far, you know you got the wrong one, so switch it out with the other.

RE: Sliders - a technical question
These aren't vortex sliders. Vortex have a 2 part design and the pucks are universal.
IIRC, the ones with the long bolts should go on the left side. Recommend you do a search for the threads on Vortex slider installation and that will confirm which side gets the long bolt.

when you drop a bike on sliders what part of the bike gets scratched? it seems like it would still **** the bottom of the fairing or handlebars, gas tank or something up, if thats the case they don't seem worth it.

RE: Sliders - a technical question
Frame sliders are worth the money, even if your bike just tips over. I dropped my bike in the bank parking lot coming to a stop, like a tool, and the bike had no damage except some very slight scuffing on the slider. Had they not been there, the upper part of the fairing would've had some nice scratches in it.

RE: Sliders - a technical question
this is what it looks like after being "used"...
however as I have said in another thread recently - it's a FRAME slider, not a FAIRING slider - it's designed to protect the integrity of the critical components (Frame, engine). Cosmetic damage is going to happen if you drop your bike, esp. while moving. Every wreck is different - the above pictures are from a high side while traveling approximately 20mph.
