Default single sided help

hey guys, i just picked up a single sided swingarm set up off of a 1998 VFR 800i, it is supposed to be an easy swap with some light machining to one side of the pivot point. im looking at it and it looks like the right side (non chain side) needs to lose about 5mm to fit. the problem there is the taking off that much is going to take off the groove that the ring that holds the bearing sits in. talked to one guy and he said instead of the 2 bearings, replace it with a 5/8th bearing.... cant find much online at all, just a few pics of people that have done this mod. any help on what spacers, bearing etc to use would be more than appreciated. even a DIY or How To link would be helpful. thanks! an email would be great. sleepya4t@yahoo.com heres the project so far.

If you cant find the info at customfighters you probably wont find it here at least not for a mod like that. I like browsing that site but I dont post much over theresince about 50% of the responses arefroma bunch of know it all dicks with little quality info to offer. Although the other 50% usually know thier **** better than me.As for the bearing I dont know where you live but most places have at least one good industrial supply business around that sells all types of bearings. Technically, I think there is a bearing out there to do just about any project imaginable. I have found bearings for some really old, rare parts at random shops in my area. Some places can look upbearings by measurement and not by application.

A few months ago there was a guy on here who had done a sssa swap on his F4i, he was selling the bike but he put some posts up. Dont know if it was off a VFR though.

This is a long shot but the guy at full throttle inc. has been machining on our bikes for years and he seems really knowledgeable on the phone. I just sent him a front wheel this morning. Long shot that he might be familiar with VFR swingarms but I talked to him about some random junk yesterday and he had a legit answer for everything I was asking.

He responds to voicemails pretty fast
