Default Shut down on me

I was riding fine, then after coming out of the store and started my 2002 CBR 600 F4i the gauges glitches and it shut down, After that when the key is on I have nothing, but when the key is in the on position I get the bottom of the speed so the 00 looks like _ _ then underneath that I see the letter A inside of a box. I attached a photo. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum. So the bike starts up and runs fine? It's only the gauge cluster that is malfunctioning? If that's the case, then I imagine it's a connection issue. Possibly on the back of the cluster itself, but more likely in the wiring harness that connects to the cluster. 2 9P connectors, one black and one natural color (translucent). Check that they are clean and well seated. If the bike doesn't start, then I'd be looking at the battery.

When it first shut down the cluster went wacky for better words then nothing. When I say nothing, it won't even prime the fuel pump or even to attempt to start. When the key is in the off position my gauge reads as the picture shows and when I put it in the on position the gauge goes blank. I checked and my battery has 13 volts so plenty to operate and start the bike.

I'd start by cleaning the battery terminals to ensure power is getting to the bike. If not battery, then check those connections I mention above. How are you with a volt meter?

13v might be a surface reading, what does it go to when you try to crank it?
