Shop sucks!

There are only 2 dealerships in Philly and they're enjoying the lockdown. Most shops / franchise auto parts stores I checked won't even look at a motorcycle tire. There's a couple local shops but most are garbage (or deal with Vespas). The one that isn't only deals with vintage bikes (cafe racers).
Unless someone knows a phenom I haven't heard of yet. Next set of tires, I'm going DIY + dynabeads.

if you're not comfortable with mounting the tire and such, +1 to whoever said take the wheel off the bike and take it to the shop. it's so much more when you bring the whole bike, they have to tear it apart so it's more money from you to them. take the axle out and save yourself some cash bro.

......Been riding for about 4 weeks on that plug and am going to the 1/4 mile track this friday!!!
Whats the worst thats gonna happen? i check tire pressure before EVERY ride. Worst case senario it might slowly leak and i'll have to pull over somewhere. I always have a spare tire plug kit with me and my cell phone.

No.... worst case scenario is the plug gets ripped out from a combination of high centrifical force and a lot of torque/friction applied to it from the force of acceleration on pavement and the plug gets ripped out underway. The tire proceeds to deflate in a matter of seconds, and you're left running with a flat and squirrelly tire at a high rate of speed and you end up eating sh*t in some horrible way.
You're worst case scenario was not very worst case... not saying I wouldn't ride on a plugged tire for the sake of saving money... but I would be relatively easy on it and I sure wouldn't be taking it to the strip.

I know lol.
...maybe just wishful thinking??
Even when i pulled the screw out and reamed the hole () it only hissed out pretty slow.
I completly covered the rope plug with rubber tire cement before shoving it in there. I'm betting on the "loop" of the rope plug getting compressed under the force of the spinning tire, hence wedging it in there. Not arguing but has anyone heard of a plug flying out before?

A few riders and myself have been planning a "track night" since winter. Last weekend we got rained out so this is the first nice weekend we'll get here in Maryland for a track night (80 degrees friday says the weatherman).
Then this stupid screw had to come along and mess up my plans. At first i was sketchy about the plug but it's been holding well and i've read other stories about a guy taking his R1 (with a tire plug) to laguna seca for the day and not having and issues.

To the OP, shops do suck lol (in terms of labor costs of course)
