Default shocker this weekend

Hey guys, I ran into something this weekend. I thought I'd polish out my rims after debating whether to chrome, polish, or powder coat them. I got started on the front and it came out amazing. I stripped off the paint using some stuff from Home Depot and proceeded to the rear. Once I masked up the inner part of the rear I put a coat of stripper on and when I went to take it off, underneath the paint was a black rim! I thought I was seeing things but it is definately not the shiny aluminum surface like the front. I've got a 2005 f4i and was so bummed to see this. Has anyone heard of this? Now I don't know what the hect I'm going to do! Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated since now I'm screwed with one black rim and one polished one up front!

Damn......

Yeah I would try one more good coat of stipper and let it sit in a warm area out of the sun for at least 15-20 minutes. If that doesn't work I don't know what to tell ya.

Did you buy the bike new? Is it possible someone had the stock rim replaced?
