I had a shinko rear on my old f4i... not a bad tire, but not great either. For the price, Id say theyre pretty good tires. Mine never lost grip around turns, but they still didnt feel entirely stable.

The only thing I'd recommend Shinko brand tires for is drag racing.

If you are just doing easy street riding those tires would be fine, but doing any kind of fast street riding or track days definitely go with Pirelli,Michelin,Dunlop, etc.
I haven't put a set on my bike but with what I've read in different magazines they'll hold up just fine for street riding.
My personal endorsement would be the Pirelli Diablo
CHeck online for prices like Ronayers.com. For a little more money you get alot better tire

I burn through Diablo Corsa III's in 2000 miles. Never again. That's tires every 6-8 weeks.

I bought a Shinko for the rear about a year ago, after I hashed a tire on a road trip. That's all the dealer had, so I took it.

I thought it was awful. Seemed like a hard compound and compared to the Dunlops, it was slightly jiggy under hard cornering. Didn't inspire confidence.

I seem to recall the Durometer hardness was nearly 80, compared to 70s for the Dunlops. Better rubber isn't that much money and is worth it, even for moderately aggresive street riding.

I tried the shinkos because the dealer I work for decided to carry them. I ran them on my Buell XB12R and on my CB-1 Honda. I thought they were decent for cheap tires. Bike torque monster bikes the tires tend to fade QUICKLY but on the little 400 I was raping the corners dragging everything attached to me and the bike.If I had the money to get better tires then I would, but if budget bawlin is the gig then the shinkos are not bad at all.
