You want to see a difference in shifting? Don't short-shift. Let her stretch her legs a little before clicking it up. These things are made to rev.

Hello,
It's me again. I have an 06 Cbr F4i and I noticed a squeaking noise when I pressed the brakes. I think it's from the front brake. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have a Large Shoei X-Eleven Royal Blue helmet worn 5 times, then my little one dropped it on the sidewalk. I would like to sell it for $450. 00(paid $625.00), it has a small scratch with a small chip located where the mouth air vent is. The helmet was tested and it is still in wearable condition. The reason I am selling it is because I am ****, and I want a new one.

Are there any New Jersey riders who knows the laws if you want to add extra LED lights? I wanted to make my bike brighter for night riding, but I am not sure if it's legal. I only wanted to put 4 small blue glowing neon LED lights. Are we allow to add LED lights?

You payed list price for that lid. Solids sell new for around your asking price. I got my Bostrom rep X11 for a little less than $500(shipped) brand new. You MAY be able to find a n00b to buy a dropped lid for that much, but I would trust a $200 Scorpion more than a dropped $450 Shoei. Just some food for thought.

I also noticed this, I was releasing the gas completely after pulling in the clutch but now I leave some (usually around 1.5-2k rpms) and shift faster, much smoother.

I'm using regular oil and I have the same clunk. My man switched to synthetic, so I may try that as well to eliminate that clunk!

Dude, you should just have to hesitate on the throttle. Your RPM should only drop slightly. Usually like 1500 rpm for anything after 2nd gear. You should also not have to pull the clutch all the way in. All you want to do is "slip" it. If you are running wide open you don't even have to touch the clutch. Just preload the shifter and hesitate on the throttle and it will jump into the next gear.

Remember this is a racebike, the tranny was designed with full power shifts in mind. Some people treat these bikes like cruisers and wonder why they arent smooth. I usually don't shift until i am around 7K or more if I am putting around town. If I am riding it like it's meant to be ridden I don't shift until near redline. That is when it shifts the smoothest.

Thats what I thought I was doing when I hit the reply button. Unless we got robbed, my husband paid $687 for a multi colored shoei and my solid was $625 from a local shop.

You got robbed.

Shoei has MAP (Minimum Advertised Pricing). This means you won't find a price LISTED lower than what Shoei wants. However, you can call around and many places will negotiate. There is such a HUGE profit margin. I got mine from The Helmet Shop in Daytona Beach (www.helmetshop.com) for $475.19 shipped. I just checked the invoice. They will also exchange it if it dosent fit right. You have to call them to get the lowest price. After I bought it I was talking to my local dealer who quoted me $600+ and he told me he could have matched Helmet Shop's price. So does that give you an idea about the markup?

Don't ever pay list price on gear.

That little extra clunk between third and second is what let's me know when I'm downshifting and slowing down to a stop that I'm just one click away from neutral haha.
