Shifting
If you are trying to shift into 7th...either you need a faster bike or you need to mod it out. The only way you should feel you need to go into a higher gear when you're already in 6th is if you feel you are going slow or your pick-up/performance isn't where you want it.
this happened to me too, just try shifting at higher RPM's. my problem was i am so used to shifting my slow *** Saturn at 3-5k RPM's that i heard the noise of the bike and wanted to shift. i'm surprised how high revving these motors can go. see where your shift points are and if they are too low, bring them up a little bit.

I do it all the time on my 600 RR... but thats because the guy who had it before me stepped the gearing up. he went down a tooth in the front and up two teeth in the rear. The RR is already fairly low-geared and "busy" at speed, but now its nutz!! Ive only pushed it to 110 on my speedo (In the area of 100+ due to gearing change making speedo off). I too am used to shifting cars, lol... this particular bike has a power band starting somewhere near 6-8 grand and continues to the 15.2 rev limiter :P lol
anyway, take it easy, and yes, I think we all do it once in awhile hahaha,
