Nice pictures Jeremy. I wouldn't think even a "street" pair of jeans would hold up well to asphalt.

The knee impact protection is my fore most concern, more so than road rash. If www.ride2die.com ever gets running again, they had some crazy pictures of guys missing knee caps after going down in jeans.

edit: found it

Man this is nasty... Hence why I always wear leathers...

Went riding today in some nasty twisties, and my buddy in front of me had a get off rolling about 30 mph around a down hill 90 degree right hand turn. High sided then slid a good 50'. I got to him before he stopped sliding, and I was 2 bike legnths behind him. He walked away with one scrape on his elbow, and a sore wrist. He was wearing full gear like the rest of us.

I think we can all agree that riding jeans aren't designed for twisties, stunting, tracks, drag racing or general squidliness. That's not their purpose. They're designed to resemble normal looking jeans as closely as possible afterall.

Short, they're meant to protect during cruising / commuting speed. If a person exceeds that, I hope they're not stupid enough to expect leather protection. If they did protect as well as leathers, everyone would buy 3 pairs of them instead of one set of leather pants
